Point Lookout Light
Point Lookout State Park, Maryland

Point Lookout State Park is located where the Potomac River joins the Chesapeake Bay. The keeper's quarters and attached tower were constructed in 1830 and deactivated in 1965. At that time the original 4th order lens was removed.

The original belltower from Pt. Lookout is now on display with the Hooper Strait Light at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland.

Today Point Lookout Light is a facility of the Naval Air Test Center in Lexington Park, Maryland, and is off-limits to visitors except of the rare times when it is opened to the public.
