Battery Point Light
Crescent City, California

Built in 1856 in the same Cape Cod style as the other 8 original west coast lights (, ), Battery Point Light served until its deactivation in 1953.

Today the Del Norte County Historical Society maintains a Maritime Museum at Battery Pt. and shines the light as a private aid to navigation.

The structure sits fully exposed on a small island which is accessible at low tide. Over the years it has taken much punishment from the sea, including an overwash by a tidal wave in 1964.
